Didn’t want to be happy anyways.
Most obvious draw ever, like i dont think i ever felt like a game would’nt have a winner more than in this game. Peak Sassuolo - Milano tbf.
A game that has been discussed so much over the past three weeks since the guilty verdict from Man City. Even more so than this fixture usually has. Though with a poor first half with mostly brawls, this game really did live up to the hype in my opinion. From the banners, the chants, and then the red card and complete collapse of Liverpool. Did i think it was a second yellow for Gravenberch? No not necessarily, but you know you’re on a yellow, and you know its unbelievably risky to go for that challenge, so in a way it’s deserved. I don’t like cheaters, but i sure can appreciate a good game of footy, and especially when it has the type of goal Doku produced because that was a beauty, and if they then also score a goal like the 3-0 then i sure as hell can forget about the charges for a solid 114 seconds.

Man United0 - 1Man CityA derby i looked forward to mostly overshadowed by what in my opinion is a refereeing error. The first half started promising, but the early red for Foden did ruin it a bit. It’s a clear red for him, but Bruno should have had red too for doing the same thing. But refs suck, this is common knowledge. I think all things considered the first half was still *fine*, can’t expect much when its 11 vs 10, just mostly both sides not knowing how to play football when they get into the final third. The second half felt more or less the same. Also with yet another controversial call. I am not sure if the goal should stand, as far as i know the rules its between deflection and a deliberate play. If Dorgu deliberately hits the ball there then yeah thats not offside, but it quite clearly looks like a deflection. Ndiaye did come on good though from the bench, played a decent game. Just yeah poor refereeing, only 5 minutes extra, some minor incidents between players, and just generally Oliver trying to take the spotlight. No one really stood out, i think Enzo did well, as well as Nunes and Gvardiol. But Haaland probably deserves it for being the deciding factor with his goal.

Theres a WW2 history joke somewhere between Switzerland and Argentina but im too tired to think of anything funny. Switzerland without Manzambi vs Argentina with Scaloni who famously has no tactics. As someone who loves the deeper parts of the beautiful this game it is not something to necessarily look forward to. Messi is all i was really interested in, and Licha and Taglia my Ajax goats. Who would’ve thought the game went exactly as expected? At least a Messi assist so that gets all kinds of records again. Also that Embolo dive lmao, why the fuck would you do that on a yellow? What a fucking goal from Alvarez though in extra time, fucking unbelievable really. Even a third goal still from Argentina, they actually did shit for once. Messi with 10 World Cup assists now, first to reach that. Also Argentina have scored 2+ goals in 12 consecutive games. Breaking Uruguay their record of 11 between 1930 and 1954. Switzerland out but their first quarter final since 1954, i think this achievement is more than they could have ever imagined. Argentina somehow survived again, im very skeptical how they will do against England, its not looking good at all they just play so so bad. Its Messi and thats all. Man of the match Licha, hes the goat, hes the best, hes everything. 8 defcon, heatmap being everywhere, joint most dribbles completed lmao.

Very dominant performance from Barca, that high line is literally never gonna leave under Flick but today it worked well at least. Almost everyone played great from Barca, but specifically Raphinha, Fermin Lopez, Gordon, and Espart were incredible. They just make everything look so easy which is very fun to watch. Elche did start somewhat well though, had a good press going but the goals are just inevitable and they brought absolutely nothing to stop that from happening. Raphinha is the easy choice for man of the match. Espart somewhat close to it, he was class, such a great talent as well.

Both teams were pretty poor, you could say Spurs were better with their energy, but a draw was fair in the end. I thought Villa were the only team who can't beat 10 men, but clearly I'm proved wrong tonight. I think both teams will be in the top half come the end of the season, but right now they're in the trenches and need to battle their way through. The statistic of Man United not covering enough ground strikes again, they did not put enough effort in to win the game. With Spurs, their quality at both ends of the pitch is just lackluster or too inconsistent despite the good workrate. Thought Tonali was solid and he created the goal so he's my MOTM.
Osijek1 - 3Istra 1961
Definitely our best game this season. Truly an incredible performance from everybody on the team. Osijek's excellent early goal from free kick kinda threw us off but soon enough we locked in and put on a show. We were so good when we had and didn't have the ball. We truly gave Osijek no chance for another goal. Kumar and Nasraoui put one hell of a shift to make it stay that way. About the goals...truly every single one is so damn good. For the first goal, Frederiksen threw a long ball towards Maurić and Maurić while falling managed to send a rocket in the goal. Škafar Žužić is so incredible and he deservingly snagged his second goal of the season here. He puts his all in every game and he is only 17! Truly talented kid. At half time I was sad that Maurić got injured and had to go off but Ahmeti put one hell of a shift. His goal was the final nail in Osijek's coffin it was simply brilliant, he went through 5 Osijek players like it is nothing. So nice to see us score in the last minutes of the game instead of conceding. Fun fact: in the last 11 times we played against Osijek, they won only once and it happened earlier this year. We have become such a pain in the ass for them 😁 So proud of this team and for the work they put in for every game. I really hope we start winning more often because we have the talent and the quality. FORZA ISTRA 💚💛
